Sunday July 19th 2009

Preparations are well under way for the 21st ANNUAL STORY BRIDGE CONCOURS presented by CLUB LAVERDA QLD Inc at Captain Bourke Park, Main Street, Kangaroo Point (under Story Bridge) Brisbane.

The day is a true motorcycle concours de elegance offering $1500 for “best in show”, and trophies for 14 classes including British, Continental, Japanese, American, Classic, Competition, Custom, Street Special, Outfit or Trailer, Best Paint, and Peoples Choice.

Entries will close at 10.30am sharp, with presentations at 2.30pm.

Sponsors including Castrol, Morgan and Wacker, Caboolture Motor Cycle Centre, Don Newell Motor Cycles, Shannons and 25 minor sponsors are on board to make Concours 2009 even better than last year’s landmark 20th anniversary show.

As before, Concours is a family day with free admission (a gold coin donation supporting MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION is suggested).  Last year we collected $7,000 for Make a Wish and we hope to top that this year.

The popular Brisbane group, the Dave Ritter Band will provide live music on the day.

Returning this year is the ever popular DYNO SHOOTOUT, courtesy of Skip’s Motorcycle Performance Centre at Yatala.

The trophy for Best in Show 2008 and a cheque for $1500 went to an immaculately presented 1948 Ariel Red Hunter 500cc machine owned by Bruce Armstrong.

Trade and club displays are welcome as before.

Everyone with any interest in motorcycles is invited to come along and be a part of this 21st anniversary event.
