1. The renovations, track resurfacing and improvements have all been completed including 100 new pit bays located in the old dummy grid and an access tunnel under the track has been installed, slightly west of the Jaguar bridge. The result is that the facility has retained its atmosphere, but is greatly improved with better facilities and a face lift.

2. There have been club type car race meeting events held, but nothing for bikes yet.

3. The official re-opening which was to be held this month, has been postponed to a date to be advised around June/July.

4. I would encourage QEMSC members to attend as a club, to show our support at that time. This will be a static display only.

5. I understand that agreement has been reached between a private provider and track management to commence rider training in the near future.

6. John Tetley has advised me that it is his intention to hold bike ride days later in the year at Lakeside.

7. I am working with John and the executive of Motorcycle Sportsmen with a view to finding a way to have bikes racing back at Lakeside. Insurance and licensing of the track are the issues at hand. I am confident that given the above, we will find a solution and be back at Lakeside sooner rather than later.

Regards, Ian Milton.
