For those interested I had a ball at Eastern Creek last weekend. Rex Dell ground the arse out of his leathers when his 350 seized in Turn 1 in Practice on Friday & was stiff & sore all weekend - but still managed to play pit bitch & make lunch even though he couldn't ride. Stevie Kairl won all 4 of the 125 class races with Trevor Liversidge 2nd overall, me 3rd. I had some great fun dicing with fellow (QEMSC) Club member Bruce Marston, in the first race. Bruce rides a 350 BSA methanol burner & goes pretty well. I'd get past him over the back & have more drive down into the straight but he could pull ahead by the end of the straight; I wasn't able to slipstream him. My fastest lap was 2m1.466s his was 2m1.480s. I got so enthused to beat Bruce in our 2nd race I jumped the start & copped a 10 sec penalty but managed a 2m2.347s into a head wind. Steve won, Trevor 2nd on paper & me 3rd. In Race 3 I had a fuel blockage on the warm up lap & sat out the race but that put me at the back of the grid for R4. In R4 I got a blinder of a start & no-one got in my way. I hosed off Bruce & caught up to Trevor L & Steve Kairl, who had been slowed by quick starting Trevor. I rode around Trev into turn 9 but Steve had got away by then but I did a 2m00.088s in that race, my pb; with a tail wind - 177.9kph. That will probably be my last chance to get under 2m as the track extension should be finished by my next anticipated meeting at Eastern Creek - the Aust Historic Champs in November.
